Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish was founded in 1888 in the small community of Solomons Island, Maryland to serve Catholics who had come to work in the boat building and fishing industries. Solomons is located at the very southernmost tip of Calvert County.

I was first sent as a Parish administrator in 1983 but in January 1984 became Pastor. The Parish has grown significantly over the past 20 years. There are now over 1200 families and the School is almost filled to capacity. OLSS retains its sense of Catholic community due to the efforts of all parishioners, whether from one of the families that have been on Solomons Island for over 200 years or newly arrived.  You are most welcome to join us for Sunday worship or to become a registered parishioner.
