RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, and is the process through which persons join or complete their initiation into the Catholic Church.

RCIA is for three groups of people:
1) Those who are not baptized.
2) Those who were baptized into another Christian denomination and wish to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.
3) Baptized Catholics who were never formed in the Catholic faith and have not completed their initiation (i.e. who have not yet received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.)

Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil,  thousands of are baptized into the Catholic Church in the United States. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

R.C.I.A. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church begins in September every year, and meets one evening per week at OLSS School.  For more information, please call Joanne McCoy at 410-394-2605
