Belize Mission: Facilitates parish twinning with St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, Belize. In partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach, this committee promotes parish mission trips that strengthen a reciprocal relationship with our brothers and sisters in this Central American country. Birthright of Calvert County: Supports and offers counseling to those who are considering abortion. Training is given. Work is hands-on for defending the sanctity of Life. Contact: (410) 257-1402


Care for Our Common Home: This group studies the encyclical, Laudato Si, and discusses how to better care for the environment. Time involved is roughly 4 hours/ month. Contact: Mary Alves (410) 326-9622


Care for God's Creation (Grounds Upkeep): Ensures Church grounds are cared for in ways that protect the Bay and use local species for landscaping. Weed, mulch, edge, plant, & maintain flower beds and buses on Church grounds. Time involved is 2hours/week, at your convenience, spring-fall. Care Net: A non-profit ecumenical group that seeks to support pregnant women in difficult circumstances with health and material aid, as well as friendship and spiritual support. Contact: (301) 737-4604


Christmas in April: A non-profit organization that improves/repairs homes for low income households. No skills needed. Work is done on last Saturday o April for a half or whole day. Fair Trade: Learn principles of Fair Trade and their connection to Catholic Social Teaching. Offer education and provide support for companies that practice human dignity, fair wages, and environmental stewardship. Food Drive: Organize and advertise food collection for S.H.A.R.E. on a regular basis. We would collect offerings and see that they get to S.M.I.L.E. on a monthly basis. Contact: Fr. Mike (410) 326-3535


Giving Tree: Coordinates Christmas gifts for needy families. Create tags for tree, inventory collected gifts, notify families. 2 days/week during Advent. Need to be caring, open to sharing, and respectful of confidentiality. Contact: Barbara Sewell (410) 326-3535


HeartF.E.L.T. (Filling Empty Little Tummies): A program for children served by Federal food programs. Provides backpacks filled with food for children to take home on weekends. Volunteers pack and deliver backpacks to local schools weekly. Homebound Visits: Lift the spirits of a homebound parishioner who lives alone, is sick, or recuperating from surgery. Contact: Sister Ruth Parent (410) 326-3306


Need a Ride:  We need people who are willing to provide a ride to someone who is aged or unable to drive to necessary appointments. This would be at a time you are able to drive and coordinate with the person needing the ride. A Coordinator is also needed for this program. Contact: Father Mike (410) 326-3535

Phone a Friend: Commit to being in regular touch with a homebound parishioner who would welcome companionship via the phone or email. Contact: Sister Paula Gohls (410) 326-3306


Prayer Shawls: A group that meets to knit shawls or blankets for those struggling with health issues. Shawls are blessed and presented to others as an outreach to those in need. This offers not only a material gift, but time and love that went into creating it. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 3pm in the Parish Office. S.M.I.L.E.:  An ecumenical organization that provides food, clothing, and energy assistance for those in need in our local area. No skills needed; training provided. A shift would be four hours, once a week or once ever two weeks. Contact: Holly Cook (410) 326-0009


Solomons Nursing Center: Visit residents and help with games, polishing nails, reading, or just visiting. One to three hours/week, year-round.
