· 33 Days of True Devotion to Mary ·

Dear parish family,

Our parish feast day is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15th.  This year it falls on a Saturday which means it is not a holy day of obligation.  However, with Our Lady being our patroness and our feast day it is of the utmost spiritual importance for us.  Therefore, I am pleased to announce that I will be celebrating a special parish feast day Mass on Saturday August 15th in the parish church at 9:00am.

To prepare for our parish feast day, we are asking those who are able and interested to join myself and the staff in making the 33 day True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin first started by St. Louis de Montfort and popularized more recently by Fr Michael Gaitley with his book 33 Days to Morning Glory.

Beginning on Monday July 13th, at the conclusion of the daily Mass next week, I will lead the readings and prayers to help us get started.   We will then conclude with making the Total Consecration to Mary at the conclusion of the Mass on August 15th.

Resources to download or link to can be found below, and we will also link from our parish Facebook page.  Please feel free to share with friends and loved ones.
At the 8:00am Mass on Sunday August 16, I will consecrate our parish and school to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As St. Louis de Montfort wrote in his introduction, "It is through the most Blessed Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ came into the world, and it is through her that He must reign in the world".  May He reign through our hearts so closely united to Mary's.

United, through Mary to Jesus,
Fr. Ken
